NEW PROGRAMS TO BETTER SERVE THE COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT AND BEYOND THE PANDEMIC.
See what EBHB is doing and why

IMAGINE THIS!

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

  • Everybody desires a healthy life filled with activities that can be shared and enjoyed by family and friends.
  • Our Rec Districts are staffed with great people, doing great work, but public agencies alone can’t be expected to serve or satisfy the diverse and demanding needs for recreational facilities into the future.
  • At the same time, private sector alone can’t be expected to undertake all the challenges of readying the land for investment in recreational facilities.
  • The 264 acres between Hwy 99 and the Skyway (Nance Canyon) identified in EBHB’s vision is the best opportunity to enhance and expand the availability of land for recreational uses.

Won’t happen by itself.  Won’t happen without people like us taking action.

Contact Your County Supervisors and encourage them to take the opportunity during the General Plan update, to expand the “Sports and Entertainment” land use designation to include recreation, education, sports, health and wellness to more areas in Butte County and revise the current zoning language to ensure any of the above uses could be accommodated throughout the county as in other counties

Supervisors can do this by supporting the proposed amendment to the Butte County General Plan, specifically the Land Use Element, including EBHB’s request for modified description to the mix of land uses in the 264 acre Regional Recreation Campus.

Let them know you are interested in more space for recreation, education, sports,
and health and wellness.

Copy the text below and send to your County Supervisor.  Emails and names are provided.

Dear

I support EBHB and their request for a modified description of the “Sports and Entertainment” land use designation through the General Plan update.  I believe more sports and recreation areas in Butte County are a good thing for our economy and the health of all that live here. Please do what is necessary to modify the land use designation.

Sincerely,

SUPPORT EBHB AND 264 ACRES OF AMAZING RECREATIONAL SPACE BY SIGNING A LETTER

How can you get involved? Download, sign and email back this letter so that our County Board of Supervisors will know you stand behind EBHB and the vision to save land for recreation, sports and fitness in our community. It is simple, our community needs more outdoor recreational spaces and we have an opportunity to lock in land so our region can have a thriving recreational hub.

Two local businessmen purchased 264 acres in South Chico off of HWY 99 and have graciously agreed to let EBHB utilize it for sports, recreation and educational facilities. There is an opportunity, during the current General Plan Update, for our Supervisors to provide forward-thinking leadership to expand the Sports & Entertainment zoning designation to enable projects, such as those envisioned by our Imagine space, throughout Butte County.
